Leadership

Pastoral Biography

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor: He hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. Luke 4:18 KJV

The Call

In August 2016, Rev. Johnnie L. Harrison was selected to Pastor the Inkster Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. This selection came after months of selfless service as Interim pastor, demonstrating a true love and devotion for God's people.

The Course

Rev. Harrison's journey in ministry began at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. He was licensed and ordained under pastoral leadership and guidance of beloved belated pastor, Rev. Dr. Frederick G. Sampson, II. Through the grace of God, Rev. Harrison consistently worked to implement the mission of the church strategically achieving spiritual and organizational goals. Further he is under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Nathan Johnson, Pastor of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Harrison desires to be a beacon of light wherever God sees fit to send. He has spearheaded outreach and pastoral efforts, including weddings, funeral services and Meals-on-Wheels. As of October 2015, while serving as interim pastor of Inkster Springhill Baptist Church, his primary focus has been on outreach ministries, with a goal of reconnecting inactive members within the community back to the church. The love of studying and sharing God's word has inspired Rev. Harrison to teach Sharon Victory Sunday School class and Deacon Group 2—16 monthly lessons for many years.
